Thanks brother!

We're actually okay.  SOme of my friends got it pretty bad, but no one was hurt, thank goodness.  Our generator has made the rounds among friends, that's for sure.  Can you believe there are still some areas that don't have power... like blocks away from my house.

I was very fortunate considering all that happened.  We lost power at work right when the storm hit.  the rain came in the building sideways till we were able to get all the garage doors closed manually.  None of the computers took a big hit, so that's good.  I rode the scooter to work and rode it home too, so thank goodness the rain and wind cleared up by the time I was able to leave work.  Riding home, though, was crazy.  No traffic lights, trees all over the streets, and just a silent, erie feeling all about the town.  When I got home, obviously the power was out.  But I didn't have any flooding in my house at all.  after only like 4 hours or so, my power was back up and my parents who live a couple miles away had their power up the same night also.  So like I said, I was very fortunate.  Although the weather service says no, there were reports of a tornado touching down about 5 blocks from my house.  that area was wrecked... trees are town, shingles were blown off of roofs, siding is hanging from houses, and there still is no power there.  My house had a coulple twigs with leaves on them in my yard.  I'd say, for as devastating as the storm could have been, I was one heck of a lucky guy!

Okay.  I'm going to shut up now.

Thanks for your concern.  Hope you get your power rollin' soon.

Do you have business in the chicagoland area as well, or are you talking about what you got hit with out by you?  My sister lives in peoria and she said she didn't really get hit too bad, but there definitely was some yucky weather happening.

My brother and I have a business in Chicago land as well and the power is back on as of this morning , I havent had much time to talk to anybody up there , as we been trying to figure out how much damage we have to or crops around here , 100 mph winds on 12 ft tall corn dont go together to well ..but so far we think were in pretty good shape ... :2thumbsup:

Too bad it wasn't high heat and 100 mph winds on your corn crops. you'd have popcorn blowing into your house if you were patient enough. It'd be like Real Genius, but different.

Well, that would make it you and pretty much everyone else who doesn't really read my posts. Heck, I don't think I've ever really read one of my posts.

But, yeah, we had some pretty bad weather that hit hard and fast. Everything is okay now, thought. That's the abridged version.

I was just taking the piss... I actually read posts through If I think they'll be worthwhile reading.

We usually hear about severe weather across the US but either I missed it or it wasn't reported. Glad all is well though

No. I actually keep my boat quite clean.

so, no offense, but I won't be taking you up on your offer to come and clean my boat while you're wearing your french maid outfit.

wow, sounds like one helluva storm! good to hear you missed the brunt of it.
when I was on holidays, it seems I ran into hail and torrential rain wherever I went. Once I got caught coming back from the lake with my jetski, I dunno how my ski didn't get trashed, but it held up.
Second time was with my newly roofed camper. But at least we didn't have killer winds like the ones that hit your neck of the woods.

well, I'm glad it all worked out for you. NOw when i come visit, i'll be able to use your jet ski. :2thumbsup:

yeah, it was a helluva a storm here, but it was just as short as it was intense, so I don't htink it made any major national news for the most part. I survived and it didn't leave me without power for more than a few hours, so it wasn't that big of a deal. the little lady and I got to play cards by candlelight, so it was atually a nice little excuse to spend so QT together.
