The fraternity house was enjoyable; it helped in part that slovenly filth wasn't allowed to enter pandemic stages as some of my "brothers" and I took the time to clean both before and after social festivities. As for books, some of them can be more engaging than people though that may depend on one's tastes and mood at the time not to mention the book and person/people in question.
