any simple mixed drinks anyone can suggest? I like my amaretto in toasted almonds and amaretto sours, plus I'll have peppermint mudslides if I'm out, but normally I'm driving so I don't have much more than two drinks.

Vodka slime :vodka/seven up/splash of lime juice
Baileys on the rocks
Any flavoured vodka and soda
Speaking of which, I had the chance to try Seagram's version of those malt beer drinks like Smirnoff Ice and Barcardi Silver. Tasted good and soda-like.
bad enough to be in a minor car accident, but it was like everyone wanted to plow through my rental even up to the last minute. thank goodness that's over with.
This time of year always gets to me. Back in high school I played the drums in the high school band, so this was the time we prepared for the Memorial Day parade. It was the last time we'd march for the year, so I always felt proud to do it. Plus something about seeing the veterans out in their uniforms. been fourteen years since the last time. makes it a time to reminisce.
would a nice pair of earrings be a good present for a lady friend's birthday when we know each other for less than one year? thinking either pearl for her birthstone or diamond.

I would say get her really, really large hoops... big enough to hold her feet.
Seriously, though. Unless earings have come up in normal conversation, like... wow, I wish I had a nice pair of earing to go with this necklace... or something similar then I would say earings, or any jewelry for that matter, is not a good gift.
This is her her first birthday that you're celebrating together. Think of it as an opportunity to dazzle her and make her feel special and appreciated. Guys who have no imagination or want to impress girls with money buy jewelry. I would say get her something THOUGHTFUL relating to a hobby, something fun you two really enjoy doing together, or something you both have talked about enjoying but haven't had the opportunity to do together yet.
Does that make sense??? I hope so, cuz I usually only like posting ridicule or boob talk. If you still have no clue, try including in your response what this girl likes so people here can help you come up with ideas
If all else fails, post a picture of her naked, so we can see what kind of earings would look best on her.
