Aye, we won a gold... but it was an Australiam trained Canadian who happens to be team, simply 'cause Canada didn't want him! But what do you expect for a country with so little snow?

On a note related to both this thread and the site, how fantastic are the legs on those female speed skaters? I've seen some nice legs before, but those take the cake! Could you imagine how fantastic their body would look after they've retired and got a bit more meat up top? :niceones:

Go Finland I say ;)

If I don´t remember wrong, we have four medals already ;) And I´m so glad that my ex-classmate won a silver for skijumping :) I hope he will win more :D And our hockey team did win Switzerland ;) I think that it is the only win that they will get this year...

QUOTE(jester89)
Take it down a couple of notches.... I was joking... Still we are still one of the most powerful teams in the summer games... Granted we put a lot of money in to it... but so do other coutries, China, Japan, Germany... In truth we probably put less in to it, compared to countries like China. The reason they put so much money in to it, is in fact, to try and beat the U.S. It's about national pride, and everybody wants to knock off the best... and since they usually seem to want to beat us, thats probably means we're the best... So in a sense, I am right, and we are the best... at the summer olympics...
But again, I really wasn't trying to be serious. I am a Jester. So try and knock off a tit of the attitude when correcting me...

Oops! Sorry. How about a few  or :roflmao: to let us poor fools without internet esp know you're pulling our chains. :roflmao: :roflmao:

It would be interesting to see what country gets the most medals per capita - undoubtedly Norway - since it leads in the medal count anyway. Heja Norge!

Finland does not need any more Olympic medals now that Conan O'Brien has agreed to serve as Inspector of Women's Saunas! :roflmao:

Canada is doing alright, but you would expect more from a country notorious for winter. But we don't have big enough population or athletic funding. Oh well, men's and women's hockey are kicking ass(women have outscored oponents 36-1) as are our curling teams. *cricket chirps* at that last one lol.

As hosting country (sure, any excuse is ok, lol), I'd like to ask to our ladies to post some pics in typical Olympics spirit.

(yeah, I know: I asked again for boobs... but don't let anyone know it)

Its comments like yours above that give Americans across the world a very bad name!
On a lighter note Aussies are basically crap at the Winter Games because we are a tropical nation. Although we did win a gold in something today!

It's people like you who take stuff to seriously, that give Americans a bad name...
I'm sorry if I sound rude, because I'm not trying to be, I like you Bondi, I like Aussies...

I also like to joke around, and I wish people would think about that before just assuming I'm another American who thinks I'm better than everybody else...

Because if you talk to me for five minutes... You'll get that I'm not, and if you see me when I travel around the world, then you'll see why some people go "aww Americans aren't that bad"...

So really, just consider somone might be joking before you jump them... Even if they aren't....

Ah, but Bondi, I seem to remember the female members of some Aus. team taking the gold in a topless swimsuit edition of some magazine. Talk about tight hard bodies with perky tits. :2thumbsup: :roflmao:

More of that for sure...Oh yeah, this is the "winter' olympics. Darn.

I am a pretty witty and sarcastic person and I had no idea you were kidding, you have to remember that given the times it woud be hard to know if you are joking or not, add in the fact that you can not detect tone on the internet, had you said it out loud I am sure it would have been obvious you were joking but on the net how is anyone to know it was a joke??? I mean I didnt see anything giving clues to let us know you were joking and when I saw it I too was like oh great this is why so many thing all americans suck these type of attitudes.

Just sayin

Ahh, true... and in retrospect, I could have made it "obvious" although I thought the "woot" portrayed it...

But then you also have to consider, people could have considered it a joke before jumping down my throats. Or you could have looked at the subject, and realized I was talking about the summer olympics (which we really are the best at, in terms of metals) even though I still had no malintent intended....

So perhaps what I am saying is that while my wording was not obvious, some people should have considered certain aspects, before making certain comments, which were somewhat offensive... THOUGH, I completly don't care, because I geuss people who took my statement out of context could have been offended....

although they probably would have to be weak willed, pansy's who cry in
fights.... :P

p.s. The aformentioned is a joke..... Or is it?

Curling is pretty cool, might not enjoy it so much if I hadn't played bocce before  . But I did happen to watch Canada lose to Switzerland the other day.

Basically read below what Di has said and it is true.

Fuck dude if you wade through my almost 4000 posts you'll notice 90% of them are stupid jokes or insults but I always make clear I am joking with an emoticon, or a "lol" etc.

You must understand I live in a place heavily poppulated with overseas tourists all year round, many from America... and alot of them have the attitude that due to size of land and poppulation they are superior humans, and being an Aussie we don't take that shit. We are very laid back people who think no person is better than another. So you must understand my reaction to your statement.

Yes I try to use a proper icon too, the one you had posted I thought was just added arrogance to the americans are the best comment.

I am sorry if I misunderstood or jumped the gun but again words on the net can be tricky without a tone to go off of.
