Appropriate for what? Sex? Hooking up with a girl?

If were were sitting down talking face to face with everyone, I would be perfectly honest and blunt when I say I am not an "ageist". As long at two people are of legal age and are in to eachother, that's all that matters.

The important thing to remember is how will this fit in your social circle. If you have friends that don't care what age you date/sex, then there shouldn't be a problem. If you have friends that are hung up on taboos, then you will find yourself eventually driven from the "clan", so there are ancillary social repercussions you need to consider.

Just wondering what others are comfortable with since it is a personal viewpoint depending on the individuals beliefs. I was totally called on this today by a younger woman, who said she loved older men. Honestly I didn't believe anyone in there 20's would be attracted to someone with that much age difference. It appears I am wrong again but hell I've been wrong lots of times before.. :roflmao:

I been on this board for many years and chatted with all sorts of women. Some of them were hung up on the age of their perspective date and some weren't. Buck is right. The social milieu that your are in and expect to be in with your date is important. You both have to be comfortable with your surroundings.

isn't it something like:

take your age, divide by 2, add 7 years... so long as the number is above 18 you're good?

When I was 30, I never thought a 18 year old college freshman would even give me a look, but it happened, at least, for a while anyways. And there were others.

Keep in mind, girls in that age group are typically fickle, they're trying new things out, testing the boundaries seeing if there's anything else out there interesting. As long as you go into it knowing you're just part of the temporary phase she's going through, you'll do alright emotionally. Get too attached thinking she's going to be something long-term and you're gonna get stung hard.
There's a rare few that are looking for older men to settle down, and they drop hints that they are looking for family life. If they don't drop hints, they're just girls in a candy store and all the men are candy.

I don't feel there is a right or wrong age differance between two people as long as you know what your gettign into and if that person is mature and responsible enough to handel the relationship. If you are ina relationship and it is a good one your true friends will support you no matter what the differance in age. :)

I'm 50 now and the biggest age differences I have been with was 23 years younger when I was 48 and 7 years older a couple of months ago.

Last Saturday night I was chatting with a stunning 19 year old who made it very clear she would have done me right then if she wasn't with her friends.

As someone else said, as long as she is over 18 and the attraction is there, why not. I have a 23 year old colleague whose boyfriend is 49, lucky bastard!
