QUOTE(bondiguy)
Cold beer is as important as flavour to us Aussies. When we visit other countries who serve their beer warm we hate it. Maybe it is because of our temperate climate but if it isn't cold, we don't want it!

There are a heap of companies that do that in Australia. We even have Rum ande Coke on Tap served below freezing! The Tooheys Extra Dry Extra Cold is doing a roaring trade served anywhere between -1C and -4C
Send it bondi's way too

I agree about the cold thing. I hate warm beer. I just don't like how beer companies market some beer as the coldest tasting beer. It's not gonna taste that cold if I have a case sitting underneath my desk at work

(note to self: buy beer fridge for work)

note to self: visit aussie bar.

QUOTE(misschickie)
I can't believe I just spent 20 minutes reading about beer in all its forms, temperatures and dispensers...

must have been the simpsons references...especially the ashtray one... :roflmao:

Oh no! What have I done? I smashed open my little boy's piggy bank, and for what? A few measly cents, not even enough to buy one beer. Wait a minute, lemme count and make sure... not even close.

i try and spend at least 20 mins a day talking about beer....and much more than that drinking it.

and great quote hahah

QUOTE(misschickie)
absolutely, the campaign was too much for my weak mind...no cold filtered, triple brewed, extra hoppy, micro beer, though...just a Canadian from my really cold fridge.

ya know, I used to love Canadian when the brewery in Regina was still open. Once we started getting it from Edmonton, something in it changed, maybe that nasty North Saskatchewan River water.

it's funny...in canada if you got beer in a can, we'd say, "i'd love to taste it in a bottle"

Oh I know what you mean. It's only as cold as the person who serves it wants it to be!

Note to self; next year, order fewer cards

I guess you always want what you cant have!

Do you guys get any aussie beer in Canada or the States aside from Fosters?

Surprisingly no, since Australia makes some damned good beer from what I have read. I am gonna make some Cooper's home brew soon though.
What are some other good and/or pupular Aussie beers I might see. Maybe I have just overlooked them.

In BC, in my local store we do get some Aussie beers, which I have not tried yet.
Bushman's Lager
Coopers Sparkling Ale
Victoria Bitter
I'll pick some up, any one in particular? Or all? :P

That is a shock!

We make an array of great beer. Even our cheap beer is pretty darn good. Coopers is a great beer. Which one are you making sparkling ale or pale ale?

The funny thing about beer in this country is that each state seems to drink differently. Coopers is massive in South Australia but considered boutique everywhere else. VB is big in Melbourne and Sydney but XXXX beer is alot more popular in Brisbane. Perth have their Emu Lager, which no one, no one else drinks!

Check out the link and it'll give you a good selection of beers made in every state...

I have never even heard of Bushman's Lager

Coopers once again is great. Sparkling is 5.8% alc. vol unless they change it for foreign markets. It'll get u fucked up. VB is a great bitter, more an everyday beer but still great!

When it comes to great tasting beer, you can't beat New England. For an award- winning White beer, try Allagash White. Then try Shipyard Export, brewed and bottled about a mile from where I live and shipped all over the country. I've tried a lot of different beers but when I drink a draf,it's almost always a Shipyard.
